Hello, I'm Bek.
I'm a multidisciplinary engineer currently working as an Automation Engineer in Minneapolis. I build software and automation solutions that enable users to control devices and equipment through friendly graphical user interfaces on tablets, smartphones, and desktops.
I hold a master's degree in Computer Science from the USA and Electrical Engineering from Germany. I spent nearly five years in Germany as a graduate student, which taught me to adapt quickly, communicate across languages, and perform at the top of my class in a new environment.
Skills and Technologies :
Automation & Control Systems :
I design and implement automation and control systems using Python, Structured Text (ST), and JavaScript/React, covering both control logic and user interfaces (mobile, tablet, and web applications). My work enables secure remote monitoring and control of connected IoT systems, including system status visualization, scheduling, and multi-component system control, leveraging AWS services and Cloudflare tunnels. I prioritize system reliability, usability, and maintainability in all implementations.
Data Engineering :
I design and implement end-to-end data pipelines for automation systems, handling real-time data ingestion, processing, and storage. Using Python, MQTT, SQL (PostgreSQL), and AWS services, I build scalable data workflows that support monitoring, analytics, and reporting via Power BI and Grafana dashboards. I also automate environment provisioning and system configuration using Docker and scripting, enabling reproducible and production-ready deployments across edge and cloud environments.
Engineering Foundations :
I apply core electrical engineering principles to design and implement control logic for automation systems. My background includes control systems (PID), power systems, electronics, signal processing, and digital systems, enabling me to model system behavior and develop stable, reliable control strategies. This foundation allows me to bridge physical system dynamics with software-driven control and automation.
Computer Science & Software Engineering :
I hold graduate degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, enabling me to bridge software with physical control systems. For example, I interface with Raspberry Pi and PLC controllers to read sensor data and trigger actuator responses. I apply core computer science concepts such as algorithms, database systems, and software engineering to design and develop efficient control systems, data pipelines, and software applications. I also leverage AI/LLMs and prompt engineering to streamline development and accelerate prototyping.
